Overview

We will be conducting a herpetofauna survey near Forster in the areas surrounding Smith’s Lake, such as Wallingat & Myall Lakes National Parks. The survey will run from the evening of Friday 26th January through to Sunday 28th January. This survey is available to all current financial AHS members, however numbers will be limited so book your place early.

The aim of this trip is to survey & log details the herpetofauna found, including location, time, conditions etc for the NSW National Parks records. We are fortunate to have a scientific licence to allow us to conduct such a survey, so this is a great opportunity to contribute to the knowledge base of our native reptiles & frogs.

We will be staying at the UNSW Smith’s Lake field station, which has dorm style rooms, a full kitchen, & bbq area. Of course you could also put up a tent or swag if you prefer. Dinner will be provided on the Saturday night, however other meals will be provided by each attendee.

Further details will be provided closer to the date. Please contact our Field Trip Coordinator, Frank Valckenborgh to confirm your interest.
