When Shell Freezes Over

We are fortunate to have Julia Riley presenting a talk at our February meeting. Julia & her partner James are currently PhD students at Macquarie University, but have also spent time studying in Canada. You may remember James’ excellent talk last year on the impacts of road-networks on various reptile groups, and mitigation measures put in place to lessen the impact roads have on reptiles.

Following on from that, Julia will be talking about the strategies Canadian turtles use to survive the winter wonderland, and share some of the challenges she had to overcome to study turtles in the dead of winter. It is certain to be a night of some ‘supercool’ stories and science!

This is shaping up to be a great talk, & we look forward to seeing you there & as usual, we will have our monthly raffle as well.

Hope to see you all there.
